“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."

About

About Me

If you have been struggling in your personal or professional life, I can help.

It is not easy to ask for help, but in working with me you will find a safe, compassionate and accepting space that fosters growth and personal development.

My name is Claire, and I am a therapist in Fairfax, Virginia and the owner of Metamorphosis Counseling. I received my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The George Washington University. My goal is to help you find fulfillment and offer space to help you grow and feel accepted.  I take a holistic approach and can help you find more fulfillment  in both your personal and professional life. I am an active therapist and my goal is to create a collaborative relationship that fosters growth and allows us to change the relationship you have with the things that cause you pain. Therapy is not about fixing you, it is about giving you space to shape who you want to be.

Whether you were referred to me by another professional, friend or through an internet search, this website will help you learn more about my training, areas of expertise and approach to counseling, psychotherapy, and clinical training and supervision.   Please contact me if you have additional questions or concerns which are not addressed here.  I look forward to hearing from you.

I am currently accepting new telehealth patients.

I take a HAES approach, and I am an ally to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ folks.  I offer a safe space to process and explore your identity. I strive to be culturally humble and recognize the privilege I have in the world. I also acknowledge that I occupy space in the unceded lands of the Manahoac people

Treatment

I can help you with a variety of current and past struggles including postpartum depression and anxiety, depression, and mindfulness

Postpartum Depression and Anxiety
Depression

If you are struggling to conceive, feelings stressed during your pregnancy, or feeling overwhelmed with your new role as a parent, I can help. You are not alone, and finding someone to talk to is the first step to feeling better!

We all struggle from time to time with new roles and life circumstances. If you have been feeling disconnected from activities you usually enjoy, struggling to go to work or school or lacking motivation, counseling can help you manage your depression and get you back on track!

Mindfulness

To live mindfully means to become more aware of patterns of behavior and how to take steps towards your goals. Talking to a therapist can help you move forward with new clarity.
